"ADR", Alternative Dispute Resolution, or Mediation provide an alternative to legal action in resolving a variety of disputes (i.e.: divorce, real estate transactions, property disputes, dissolving partnerships, liability claims, etc.)
With the help of trained professionals, many people are able to satisfactorily resolve differences and avoid time and monetary expenses, emotional distress, and court of legal action. Oftentimes parties are able to come to agreement quickly and amicably in context of mediation.
Many groups are moving toward mediation to avoid expensive court costs. An increasing number of leases, legal documents and contracts are utilizing mediation as the allowed form of conflict resolution. Before signing any legal document, review carefully its restrictions and conditions to determine if mediation is in your best interests or if other legal avenues are more appropriate for your specific needs.
