Company Description: Mission of Access Referral Network (www.ForAccess.com) is to provide comprehensive and accurate information to consumers about licensed professionals worldwide.

Internships with Access Referral Network:

  1. Friendly environment to learn management and organization skills needed for a busy business office.
  2. Opportunity to coordinate tasks and projects, while also developing applicable daily operational techniques.
  3.  Introduction into both profit and non-profit aspects of business and development.

Internship Description:

  1. Participate in general company meetings (4-6). (Requirement waived and other conditions apply if intern does not attend university or live in San Antonio area.)
  2. Work on any assigned team projects.  (3-5)
  3. Maintain weekly report (emailed or faxed) to supervisor (due each Monday by 9 am)
  4. Create or recommend one new or substantive idea appropriate for implementation on site. (i.e. organizational improvement, timesaver or management technique to simplify operations)
  5. Develop and Coordinate a master ˜calendar' of activities, accessible for all groups involved. Maintain automated task-lists (including future projects, meetings, pending projects, deadlines, and to-do lists).  Establish automated, organized record system of contacts.
  6. Develop telephone skills and personal interaction with clients, possible business partners, other interns and associates.
  7. Organize, file, and maintain office documents and materials
  8. Assist other teams and interns (from other depts. such as art/design, business) in development of other projects, as assigned.
  9. Add data as needed for office management or web site development.
  10. Compose and mail necessary correspondence using office automation to print at least 1 set of non-member related mail merge products.
  11. Compose and mail merge at least 1 member related project or announcement (workshop, press-release, etc.
  12. Assist in creating business cards for all interns.

Hours Per Week: 16 to 20

Qualifications: Candidates should be hardworking, dependable, attentive to detail, willing to learn, express interest in organization and office management skills. 

Added Features:  In an effort to generate possible employment opportunities and marketing for interns, a special area on our site features interns, including names, photos, university name, university contact information, project assigned to each intern, and resume.  Press releases will be sent to intern's area media (TV, radio, newspapers) regarding each intern, internship responsibilities and sponsoring university.  (Interns and sponsoring universities may also provide additional addresses, such as hometown or academic newspapers, for additional news release requests.)

Interns may also be invited to business development, networking and marketing meetings provided by city/community groups (in an effort to make the community aware of the interns skills and projects, and to assist interns in practical, application development and training for necessary future business relationship skills.)
